POLICE AND CRIME COMMISSIONER

15 November 2012
The first direct elections under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 for a Police and Crime Commissioner for each of the 41 police force areas in England and Wales adopted the supplementary vote system. Where more than two candidates were standing, voters marked first and second choices on their ballot papers. If no candidate achieved a majority on the first count, the second preference votes for the two leading candidates in the first round were then added.
